Garden Walk 2003 House #2

This lovely home was one of the 6 selected for the 2003  Canton Garden Walk. It's large pie-shaped lot features many gardens that have been developed over the past 25 years. Our task was to create a new garden in an empty area and assist the homeowners in adding extra touches that would really make it shine for the show.

This was the problem area that the client's needed some design ideas for. The space had become somewhat of a compost area. It was the place where containers were emptied after the season and other garden refuse got tossed. There were 3 misplaced black lava boulders and a few perennials that needed some companions or to just be moved to another spot.

"Boy In Bath" Garden Before

Here's the finished garden. We gave a new purpose to a stone bench that was being unused, installed a small flagstone path, added new plantings (Hostas, Ferns, Toadlily and Japanese Iris) and accentuated the area with a main focal point. For this garden we chose an asymmetrical design style.

After

These clients really had a very keen sense of style and together they created many impressive containers and decor groupings.

This view shows one of the back yards finest features, the pond and deck. This space really is the highlight of the property and is thoroughly enjoyed by both homeowners. An added attraction to the pond is the bog garden that's located directly behind the bronze fountain sculpture.
